DOS VISION

  • The Office of the Dean of Students promotes university programs that help students develop a sense of belonging to a supportive educational community. The staff in the Office of the Dean of Students represent student interests for maximizing learning opportunities outside the classroom. In this role, the Dean's staff serve as an interpreters of university standards and policies for students, and serve as university facilitators for student interests. These actions strengthen the relationship between students and the academic sectors of the university.

 

DOS MISSION

The Office of the Dean of Students supports the educational mission through the programs and activities of each of its units.

  • Fraternity and Sorority Affairs serves to support the personal growth, learning, health and safety of fraternity and sorority members through leadership, self-governance, and service opportunities.

  • New Student Programs is the gateway to services & programs for new students at Cornell University. New Student Programs serves students by providing information before they arrive on campus, upon their arrival and during their first week, and throughout the many transitions of their first year

  • The Office of Student Support strives to provide high quality programs and services that encourage each student to develop the skills and qualities that foster continual personal and academic growth and well-being, and that enable each student to thrive in and contribute to a vibrant, safe, diverse and inclusive community at Cornell and beyond.

  • The Student Activities Office provides students with opportunities designed to promote individual growth, creativity and personal connections through experiential learning.
