About The Chapter
Mu Gamma was founded in the Fall of 1975 at Ithaca
College.
The fifteen charter members desired to foster
a sense of sisterhood among African American women on campus,
and provide service to the Ithaca community as a whole.
The chapter soon grew to include members from
Cornell University and became active on both campuses and in the
surrounding community.
Through contributions to national organizations
such as the March of Dimes and UNICEF, as well as local volunteer
efforts at Southside Community Center and GIAC, Mu Gamma has proved
their commitment to public service.
